Urban Land Markets in the Middle East

AUA partners have been involved in several in-depth analyses of the housing markets in the Middle East. Our understanding of the nuances of area-specific demand preferences, supply distortions, and direct and indirect subsidies informs our research and action. At the fine-grained level, we have produced targeted case studies, such as quantitative and qualitative assessments of the impacts of upgrading on historic neighborhoods land value, gathering our own data from dozens of interviews, sales documentations, and years of municipal permitting records.

On a broader scale, we have recently facilitated a comprehensive housing market assessment of a major nation in the GCC, and, from that are currently developing innovative financial and tenure structures for a large-scale charitable investment in low and medium-income housing.
